Damascus, in the midst of war, chaos and disintegration, becomes a bleak scenery for an animation about a life underpinned by fear and helplessness. The protagonist living in Syria misses his carefree past and dreams of a visa that will help him to go abroad. He knows that here a bomb may destroy his house any minute. His mind is beginning to project surreal visions and delusions, referring stylistically to the first-person shooter computer games. ‘Have a Nice Dog!’ shows an apocalypse happening directly in front of our eyes.

Animator and visual artist He was born in 1987 in Syria. He studied at the Visual Communication Department of the University of Damascus. He defended his MA in Animation Directing at the Film University Babelsberg in 2019. He has produced several animated films screened at festivals across the world. He has been a jury member at international film festivals, such as Stuttgart and Annecy. Along with animation, he creates other works of art and music videos and has experience in video art, caricature, photography and painting.
