Crazy Days - or Making an Opera in Pandemic Times

For three years, the Dutch National Opera was preparing the performance of ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ with an international cast. All the tickets were sold out within minutes. And then the coronavirus arrived jeopardizing the efforts of hundreds of people. They did not surrender. The film is a recording of the special time when, despite the strict sanitary regime and general uncertainty, they decided to bring the project to a grand finale. To the sound of Mozart’s music, in the stifling atmosphere of the pandemic absurdities, we bear witness to a unique creation process and a human encounter.
