Warrawong... the Windy Place on the Hill

Australia2022documentary29'Międzynarodowy konkurs filmów krótkometrażowych (2022)

An elderly couple lives among lots of dogs and even more sheep, cows, goats and sometimes even a kangaroo in the Australian Outback. Sue and Brian are very close to each other. Despite numerous responsibilities on the farm, they always find time to have a meal together or go for a walk in the neighbourhood. Although the world is engulfed in pandemic turmoil, they manage to function almost without interruption. Brian takes care of the animals and runs the business, Sue attends the women’s association meetings. It is extremely comforting to see that even in the era of global changes, life in small enclaves follows its own rhythm.

Simon Target’s self made films take you to unfamiliar and often beautiful landscapes, revealing ordinary lives of unlikely heroes with raw honesty and care. THE POLISH MISSIONARIES (KFF 2019) showed villagers struggling against poverty and disease in remote Papua New Guinea. A TOWN CALLED BRZOSTEK uncovered forgotten stories of Jewish life in rural Poland. A graduate of Britain’s National Film School, Simon lives in Sydney with his Polish wife, doctor and author Beata Zatorska.
