United Kingdom2021fiction21'Międzynarodowy konkurs filmów krótkometrażowych (2022)

With an unsentimental yet subtle blend of drama and genre cinema, the director reveals to the audience one of the faces of modern-day slavery. For a group of teenagers, an ordinary street in a British town is a sports field, playground and a place of joy where they can spend time together. For the Vietnamese boy, who has been ‘taken into the care of’ the mafia and is watching them from his window, it is an unattainable dream. Every day he has to work hard and keep an eye on the drug business. ‘It is at your fingertips. You just cannot see it’, says a 16-year-old boy who fell victim to the criminal underworld in a report for the UK’s Office for National Statistics. The film gives voice to other young victims of slavery and abuse by adults.
