It is hard to believe in the American dream if you come from a little town in the Appalachians. This exploited and forgotten region has been affected by unemployment, environmental pollution and above all the opioid crisis. The filmmakers, who had accompanied a multi-generational family for many years, presented an insightful and empathetic picture of the youngest generation burdened with traumas, poverty and the omnipresence of addictive substances from the very start. Among them, there is Curtis, a resolute boy growing up before our very eyes, who is ready to break out of the vicious circle sucking up his loved ones.
