A cinematic odyssey through the dark alleys of folk horror, from its origins in 1960s Britain to its contemporary revival in works such as Midsommar and The Witch. Director Kier-La Janisse takes us through every possible context of the genre in this over three hour long compendium of film studies. The documentary includes excerpts from 200 films and series as well as interviews with 50 scholars and filmmakers of folk horror explaining its connections to, among other things, paganism, second-wave feminism and occult movements.
