‘(Nie)zapomniane dokumentalistki’ is a collection of essays edited by Monika Talarczyk, which seeks to restore the memory of female documentary filmmakers who were often marginalised in the history of cinema. The authors analyse their filmography, themes and styles. They demonstrate how these directors portrayed social reality, privacy, work and cultural transformation, as well as how they functioned within the male-dominated film industry. It is both a historical study and an attempt to rewrite the canon of Polish documentary film from a female perspective. A discussion with the participation of Monika Talarczyk, Katarzyna Trzaska and Małgorzata Świderska.

Agnieszka Duczmal — an outstanding Polish conductor and founder of the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra ‘Amadeus’ — and her daughter, the orchestra’s artistic director, will talk about their career paths, experiences and collaborative music creation. The event will offer a glimpse behind the scenes of a conductor’s work, provide an insight into the dynamics within an orchestra, and explore the artistic tradition passed down from generation to generation.

The film ‘Tuners’, directed by Paweł Chorzępa, serves as a starting point for a discussion about one of the most fascinating yet little-known professions in the world of music. What does a piano tuner’s work involve? What is it like to work with pianists before a concert or recording? What determines the perfect sound of an instrument? The conversation will reveal the unknown aspects of the work, the secrets of tuning, and the construction of the instrument itself, composed of thousands of precisely interlocking parts. We will also inspect its inside to find out how sound is actually produced.
