In a mountainous but extremely green landscape, horses graze on the plain, goats jump over rocks, and laughing children run after them. In this paradise on earth, nomadic families have found their temporary home. From one of them comes a teenage girl, Shahnaz. The girl is distinguished by her intelligence and great passion for words. For some time now, she has even been making her first creative attempts, inspired by the reality around her. In this enchanting natural world, everyday life is immersed in tradition according to which adolescent daughters must get married. This is exactly what her father plans for her, and in the meantime Shahnaz’s thoughts are focused on the world of literature.

Marjan Khosravi, born in 1995, is an Iranian women filmmaker who studied Cinema and Media Art. She made her first short documentary, The Price of Blood, in 2018. VADIYAR is her second short fiction film, nominated for grand prix Award at 40nd Uppsala short FF. Her mid-length documentary “The Snow Calls”, selected for IDFA's 33rd and won Big Sky feature film award. She is making her first feature documentary, A Woman's Path, which won Hot Docs Crosscurrents Fund and participated at Hot Docs Forum. She usually focuses on women's rights and their social problems are the leitmotiv in her films.
