He photographed wars, disasters and human tragedies, but his obsession with the perfect shot cut him off from his family. The documentary shows McNaughton’s story through his shocking photographs, ranging from the ones of the civil war in Belfast and Omagh to those brought back from remote corners of the world. Returning to the Irish countryside is an opportunity for the protagonist to reconnect with his son, but the past and the images of suffering still haunt him.
