The Netherlands2025documentary12'Short Film Competition
June 2023. More than a year after Russia’ invasion of Ukraine, the war is still going on in the streets, but at Kyiv’s Museum of Natural History, children can forget about it for a while. A teacher takes them for a tour of the world from millions of years ago, free from the reality of war. This is more than a lesson – it is a substitute of life without fear. Sergei Loznitsa, a winner of multiple awards at the Krakow Film Festival, returns with a documentary in which he tries to find out whether escaping into the past helps to face the present.
