Kapralova
Czech Republic2025documentary70'DocFilmMusic competition
She lived for just 25 years, yet her body of work, life story and posthumous reputation speak volumes about the place of a talented woman in the world of classical music. Meet Vítězslava Kaprálová, a brilliant Czech composer and conductor who captivated Europe before the war. Historical upheavals and social hypocrisy have erased her name or reduced it to a footnote in other biographies for many decades. Today, she is being rediscovered, and her compositions inspire young generations, particularly overseas. What emerges from archives, private letters and contemporary interpretations is the portrayal of an artist ahead of her time.
