The Revolution Against Death
Denmark2026documentary24'Short film competition
Joshua Oppenheimer, the director of the acclaimed ‘Act of Killing’, frequently confronts viewers with difficult moral dilemmas. In his new documentary, he explores human obsession with immortality. This time, he follows a community of American seniors who, faced with fear of loneliness and oblivion, are trying to preserve their identities forever through digital tools. The film, in a poetic style, shows how modern technologies are fuelling the latest chapter in humanity’s age-old quest to transcend the boundaries of death.
