Easter Day

Ukraine, France2025fiction17'Short film competition

On Easter Sunday in Kyiv, two soldiers make their way slowly through the streets, on the lookout for men who might be conscripted into the army. By chance, they come across a young man who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time: he had only left home to get some food for his cat. In a sensitive manner, the film balances tragedy and humour, showing that in wartime nothing is certain anymore, and that in a reality thrown into disorder, ordinary human gestures remain a source of solace.
