Animus Animalis (A Story about People, Animal and Things)

What seems an oneiric tale is in fact a story related with cool precision about ‘borderline’ worlds where life and death intertwine in unexpected ways. Aistė Žegulytė aims her camera’s lens at taxidermists, breeders and museum curators attempting to freeze nature in place. She reflects on humanity’s need to control nature, and in particular on the process by which culture transforms an animal into an image, exhibit and a symbol. A unique feature-length documentary debut.
