Spiritus Sanctus

During the Pope’s pilgrimage to Poland in June 1999, there is a total ban on the sale of alcohol along the route of his visit. Bogdan has a seemingly simple task to complete: obtain a bottle of vodka for his wife’s 50th birthday. However, the most ordinary trip to the shop soon defies the logic of everyday life, shatters the boundaries of realism and turns into a metaphysical journey through the absurdities of the late 1990s. The further the protagonist ventures into a series of strange encounters and extraordinary obstacles, the less obvious it is whether the task itself pertains to alcohol only.
