Carla and Her Legs
Germany2026animated14'Short film competition
Carla has had enough. She is humiliated, ridiculed, and reduced solely to her ‘otherness,’ and her true distinguishing feature - acrobatic talent - remains unnoticed. Legless but not without strength, Carla works odd jobs at a variety show, where she serves the showgirls instead of performing alongside them on stage. The director does not see her as an artist, until his theater begins to decline. That is when Carla gets her chance. Will she seize the opportunity to fight for herself and overcome the limitations imposed on her?
