The Last Wild River
Poland2026documentary15'National competition
For several decades, scientist Witold Strużyński has been consistently working to protect noble crayfish, whose population is drastically declining as a result of many years of human exploitation of the environment. His work forms the backbone of a story about the disrupted order of nature and the consequences of interfering with nature’s natural rhythm. A poetic reflection on one man’s determination to restore the upset balance draws attention to the importance of individual actions and small steps in the process of rebuilding the world.
