Why are young women disappearing in today’s Iraq? The film director sets out to track down her childhood friend, which marks the beginning of a personal investigation and a story about a hushed-up social phenomenon. Nour’s search turns into a hypnotic journey through the streets of Baghdad, leading her to surprising places. We see a country ravaged by the recent war, families scarred by dark secrets and heroines striving to overcome the fatalism hanging over them. The title refers to the missing, often nameless, women, whom this intimate story seeks to save from oblivion.
