‘The allotment, my hobby,’– the film’s protagonists might say. In the summer, family allotment gardens become a refuge from the urban hustle and bustle, and time there clearly goes by at a different pace. The camera observes allotment gardeners of all ages as they work and rest, capturing small gestures, brief conversations, and repetitive rituals. Here, everyone functions in their own way, but they all share the same space. What emerges from these seemingly ordinary situations and everyday interactions is a mosaic portrait of the community – warm, at times humorous, yet simultaneously tinged with nostalgia and the awareness of the passage of time.
