Every home has its secrets and no one gets to choose a family, which is subject to its own dynamics. The protagonists of the films in this collection must confront their heritage. For some, it will be an old family estate and an ultimate parting with their former lives. For others, the challenge is harsh customs and laws that make women inferior. There are also those who have discovered that their family, despite fulfilling its basic functions, is fiction or even a prison. All of them, regardless of their cultural background, find themselves on the threshold of something new.
